5/15/99 Observing, Foothill Park Palo Alto, conditions fair, sky glow moderate to severe, moisture content high, fog on western hills, background haze to +35 degrees, temperature cold 45 degrees. Used detailed chart of area in Sky Atlas 2000, appendix B, Virgo, to help easily identify objects. 10" DOB.

Began about 2045 hours 5/15. Primary Target area Leo, Coma Berenices. Finished around 2145 hours 5/15 due to cold and wind (where's our summer!).

Comment: As this was my first trip to Foothill Park, I found that the views to the south to be excellent. It should be a great site for summer viewing of Sagittarius, Scorpious, Lupus and others.
