Good Observing night..

by Richard Navarrete

I observed Mars at around 10:30 last night with Goldie, my 6" f/8 reflector. Not terribly steady, but I did see what I assume was Hellas, a large dark surface marking just below it and what looked like another very small white area on the pole opposite Hellas. Clouds? Polar cap?? I also thought I saw glimpses of another whitish patch on the edge of Mars at 12:00- as opposed to 9:00 for Hellas(?) and 3:00 for the other white patch.
