Moon occults mag 6 star SAO 93356
By Bill Arnett

Heads up shallow sky folks: the sky is clear, the Moon is up and there's an Io shadow transit in progress. Grab those hours-old photons while you can :-)

...

At about 5:56 the Moon will occult the 6th mag star SAO 93356. If you hurry you can see it :-)

...

Why are those things so much fun? :) You sit there watching a perfectly boring star and the Moon creeps up and then BOOM! the star is gone. No warning, no sound, just gone. "That is so cool!", I shout.

Later tonight just after 8:14 it will occult a pair of 9th mag stars, the second should be about 3 seconds after the first. But it may not be easy to see 9th mag stars so close to the nearly full moon.

There will be another double occultation at 10:42.

The Moon goes thru the Hyades tomorrow night (really early am 12/3) but the best show will be for those farther west; it occults Aldebaran at 6am PST.
