Wow! The storm moved through faster than I expected. I'm outside with my Ceravolo Mak watching the Europa transit. Is anyone else taking quick advantage of the clear skies to observe? I'll look at Saturn later as it rises higher. You never know if tonight will give good seeing until you get out and look.
Unfortunately, the stratus clouds are moving back in. But, I'm noticing a nice filtering of Jupiter's bright glare when the passing clouds thin out. It's surprising how much resolution my scope shows, tonight, with this cloud filtering going on. Apparently, the atmosphere is quite steady around these stratus clouds allowing sub-arc-second resolution at 300x, as long as the clouds don't cover up Jupiter totally. I'm hoping to see Europa's shadow egress, Ganymede's and Io's occultation reappearance at aound 8:30 p.m. tonight.
