Montebello report...
By Bruce Prickett

Well those of us at Del Valle last night enjoyed watching the fog roll in and darken our western horizon :-) We had a great evening! Bruce J and Paul S. were back & forth between the 8" Cave and the 80 mm Orion as they ticked off Virgo and Leo galaxies. I found the Leo galaxies, and enjoyed re-familiarizing myself with the easier stuff I hadn't seen in a dark sky since last year. I also got to know my new SP-C8 set-up better, and spent some time with the binocs just lounging around on my Thermarest.

At 10:15 an EBRPD cop came by to roust us, but she was very nice and accepted Bruce J's assurances that Park headquarters had approved our presence on the road to Del Valle. Then she turned off the lights, and we showed her M3 in Paul's 8" Cave. Around 11:30 we packed it in, since the moon was lighting the sky and we all work for a living. This was my best and darkest night out (in the USA) since last summer :-)
