Moon Observation
By Matthew Buynoski

No clouds?!! Have to go out and observe something...of course, it's nearly full moon, so not much was showing except a few of the brighter stars and, of course, fair Luna crossing the celestial sea. Ok, I'll take it! Beats looking at the bottom of cumulus or stratus!

I found one fascinating view, down where the terminator was. One of the larger craters had its walls brightly lit and enclosed plain dark. In the middle of the plain, the central peak was lit up as well, a spot of brightness in the inky black.

One other thing...many of the smaller craters in the mare are roughly the same color/brightness as the mare itself. I did find one (again, down near the terminator, but this one was fully lit) that was significantly brighter than the mare material, in something of a contrast to the other smaller craters in the vicinity. Does this mean the crater involved is likely to be younger and not "covered with dust"? There were no obvious clues as to age such as later craters overlapping the main subject of interest or the (darker) ones nearby.
