Coe, Coe, Coe!

by Rich Neuschaefer

It was a fun night even if our bare fingers were hurting from the cold. After digging around in the truck a bit I found my gloves. It was great seeing some of the old gang and a number of the newer folks.

There was a little dew near sunset but a little later the air seemed to dry out and the transparency also improved. Coe isn't the darkest of observing sites but we were getting nice views of some pretty dim objects. The seeing was also surprisingly good. Mark's 18" was giving a really fine view Saturn.

I left my scope in the truck and played with my binoculars. My Kowa 32x82 Highlander Prominar isn't all that big but it certainly gives beautiful pin point star images. It was fun viewing a number of the Messier objects with my "big" binocular and with some of my smaller binoculars.

Clear skies,
Rich
