Brief OR from Coe (Fri)

by Rich Neuschaefer

There were five of us at Coe last night (Friday). The seeing was very good most of the night. The sky was clear but no fog to cover the lights of the cities. The light was scattering up pretty high in the West.

I wasn't doing the marathon, but M74 "wasn't there". Even M33 I'm not absolutely sure was there.

Saturn was very nice. The Casssini division was easy. The three main parts of the ring, no problem. Nice butterscotch band on Saturn.

I was having fun looking at R Laporis (Hind's Crimson Star). Six stars were easy in the Trapezum. I my old 155mm f/7 refractor. I also used my 32x82 binocular.

It was a nice night. The last person left by about 4:10 am.

Hope you guys get fog in the valley tonight. Should have a great time.
