Conditions at the Peak Monday Night

by Bob Jardine

Peter and I enjoyed a brisk evening at the Peak. Yes, it was cold, but not miserable. I didn't even use all of my layers! Boots and gloves, yes, but I've observed in colder conditions.

Absence of wind was the key. Well, OK, it was also surprisingly dry -- I expected a dew-fest, but we didn't get it. Peter will probably comment on the temperature and humidity readings that he got with actual instruments. My observations are purely subjective.

The sky was clear, transparency was pretty good, although seeing was a bit soft.

Definitely worth going out! I would go again tonight, but my work schedule is hectic in order to get enough done to go on vacation next week. So for me it will have to be Friday or Saturday.
