"Downtown Virgo" from Fremont Peak

by Richard Crisp

While I was waiting for the Milky Way to rise last night I decided to shoot the Markarian's chain area of Virgo (aka "Downtown Virgo") in RGB using that new 300mm f/4 medium format Pentax SMC lens.

This is 1.5 hours total exposure of 5 minute subexposures using R, G, and B filters. I also made a monochrome inverse palette version to assist in finding the tiny faint ones.

Enjoy!
