Texas Star Party

by Bob Jardine

It sounds like you guys had a great time.

At first, your message briefly caused me some pangs of doubt and regret, because I bailed out before reaching Texas. But hind-sight is 20-20 (or better), and I can't find a flaw in my logic. As you know, I stopped in Arizona when I saw short-term weather predictions of 70% clouds in Ft. Davis, and only 5% in most of SE Arizona. No point in driving another 20+ hours round-trip if the weather is going to suck. Turns out I guess the only thing that sucked was the prediction.

I had a mostly pleasant time in Arizona (and Los Angeles), meeting new people and seeing new sights, about which I'll report more later.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I'll try again next year. And maybe I'll ignore the weather predictions. ;-)
