So it was Friday night. Traffic southbound on 101 at 5 was as expected. I phoned Navarrete, who wanted to go but couldn't, telling him I was doing zero down 101 (it happened several times), and the skies were awful. Gotta take care of your friends.

And much appreciated. I had tickets to the Oakland symphony, and had planned to go observing tonight (saturday) but we all know the forecast for tonight. :-( I thought about you as I left for the concert and saw the sky was mostly clear. Figured maybe you might luck out. When we got home it was 100% clear. Glad you had a good time.

My OR.

8x24 Nikon Travelite binos, my front yard, lots of street lights, not dark adapted as I just stepped out of the car.

Orions belt, saw three stars.

Orions sword, noticed a small smudge around the middle star. Wonder what that could be? ;-)

Betelgeuse - looked red.
