a higher grade of crab

by Richard Crisp

the seeing was actually quite good for me last night in Castro Valley. But as usually happens I am learning, when the seeing is good there is fog lurking. Last night was no different.

Light clouds came and went but I was good to go until about midnight when it finally got thick enough that I didn't want to wait any longer.

I did wake up at 3 and took a peek out and it was clear but I wanted sleep so I didn't go back out.

I did get to take five exposures of 45 minutes of the Crab in seeing that was averaging about 3.5 arc-seconds as measured by Half Flux Diameter in stars while focusing.

here's that crab
