Comet 9P (Deep Impact) at Foothills

The star party at Foothills Park on upper Page Mill Rd/Palo Alto was not so well attended and conditions were poor. Windy and horrible seeing, but did improve later, after many went home...

Comet 9P/Tempel 1, the Deep impactee, was quite difficult to see. I estimated it at v=10.9 and 1' diameter at 107x in my 20cm reflector. Only seen by averted vision. Of course the moon and light pollution were a significant interference tonite.
