TSP 2005

by Bill Drelling

Finally made it to TSP! I am on the upper field right now accessing the wireless network they have set up. It is working, but not so well, so I'l need to keep this short.

Last night I arrived in the area and camped at Davis Mountain State Park with a friend. We both have WIlliam Optics Zenith Star 80mm refractors, so we took them up to the summit of the mountain and spent the night onserving with them. They are quite impressive scopes under these skies. We saw a long list of objects including the Ink Spot. I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

Tonight is the first night of the star party and we have hazy/cloudy skies. The are slowly clearing...at least enough to do a ittle observing throught the sucker holes. Hey, I drove 1413 miles, so I'll take a sucker hole!

It has been great to see old friends again regardless of how the night skies shape up. Let me send this beore the wireless netwok bumps me off.

More later.
