Plettstone Feb 3-4

by Rob Hawley

I went up to Michelle's on Thursday hoping to beat the clouds. Albert also came up. Thursday was an ideal winter viewing night. Early on it was very dewy. Later the humidity dropped and the temps remained in the low 40s.

Friday night was a loss. We could see the bright stars- sometimes. The skies cleared about 2 AM (or so I am told). I waited until midnight, but at that point I called it a night. This morning the skies were crystal clear. The water vapor image confirmed that we were under a patch of very dry air. Unfortunately it did not look like that was going to last. I just checked the WV image and it looks like the skies at Plettstone are closing in. Not that we would know the difference under the low clouds in San Jose.

All observations were Thursday night
