Comet Machholz fu

by Jamie Dillon

Did the same sort of thing last night. Had printed the finderchart from S&T, which is really unnecessary as the comet's following a line right along to the West of Orion, heading north. Stood outside with the 7x50 binocs, no tripod. No wonder that comet was nekked eye from Coe last weekend. Big, bright in a long oval.

Folks with big scopes in really dark skies are seeing colors in the two tails, blues and greens. Skiff down in Arizona was saying this is because Machholz is gassy. Swear. Direct quote - "The current Machholz comet is a very gassy one."

I wanna be like Brian Skiff when I grow up.

Aloha on a Friday, TACos and TACerettes. Good weekend and lots of Christmas love and laughs to all.
