Lake Sonoma

by Matthew Marcus

I was there, too. Seeing started out pretty good, with epsilon Lyr showing nice clean diffraction rings and dark space between components. It softened up later. Mike and Jim were there and lent me a copy of the TAC Eye-Candy list, sorted by best time to view. I got through the first page (29 objects) plus Stefan's Quintet and 7331 before being totally dewed out. There was a French couple (Pierre and Louise) who had an AP refractor (5"?) which they were running at low power. It delivered smashing views of the Double Cluster, M31, the North America Nebula, etc. I left when the fog came in for real. A very pleasant night.
