Pretty fair night at Coyote

by Bob Jardine

I went to Coyote Lake Park last night (Sunday), because I couldn't get out on Saturday. For once, my other life constraints managed to match the better weather; usually, it seems, it is the other way around.

I arrived at around 7:40. There were still a few high clouds, particularly in the North; they did a pretty fine job of enhancing the San Jose light dome, so it wasn't real dark, but these clouds left by around 9:30, and the sky was clear after that. Seeing was fair to good.

Temps didn't drop below 40, humidity stayed below 70%. No wind.

I spent a little while on H-400 objects, then switched to working on the Astro.League binocular list. I finished up with some "eye candy" (Dbl Cluster, directly overhead, was obvious with nekked eye and very nice in both binos and scope). Packed up at around 11:30. Woulda stayed later on a non-work night.
