Skunked last night at Coe

by Jamie Dillon

Got there in time to catch Mr Seamus, who had packed up and was preparing to be the bold sacrifice. Kevin R, Dennis Steele, David the backpacker and fisherman, Nick and Mei Fong were all looking up at a hazy sky. On the way up, things looked promising, esp in Cassiopeia and Perseus. High cirrus had been waxing and waning. By 11 it had pretty much waxed. Nick and Mei Fong, who have a spanking new Orion 10" Dobs, hung around long enough to get some decent views of Saturn.

Felix stayed in the box. Did pull out the binocs, thru which the Double Cluster looked way washed out. I was gone not long after 11.

It wasn't too cold, so the trip itself was pleasant, as was the company. Glad to hear the folks at Lake Sonoma had better luck.
