Fun Night at FP

by Dave North

I counted sixteen at SW, 1 at Coulter and 7 at the Observatory.

The wind was occasionally still, but more often ran as a steady 2-3mph breeze with the odd 5mph gust. Though that wouldn't have been bad if the temperature had been five degrees higher (and even welcome at ten degrees higher) it was just a bit too cold for comfort when we're all used to the heat now.

Sky was average for FP -- some haze moved in from the Bay, but Gilroy was completely clear and doing it's Light Dome thang.

Seeing was weak but useable, transparency very good. As a result, I had some difficulty seeing mag 6 stars in parts of the sky, but was able to glean pretty good detail in most of my galaxy targets for the night.

I'd rate it ho-hum minus. Good crowd, though, which makes up for a lot.
