Comet Ikeya-Zhang -- Don't Miss It!

by David Staples

AAAAHHH!!! I'm jealous. Although I have been out checking out the comet every chance I get, I haven't been able to check it out at a dark site. Last night, from my severely light polluted frontyard, I had the best view yet.

It was very bright and had at least 2.5 to 3 degree tail, this was with 3 streetlights nearly in the field of view of my 15x70's. By the way, your binocs are very similar to mine and mine (Oberwerk 15x70)have a field of view of 4.3 degrees, I've got to see this thing at a dark site. I also had a good view with the C8 at 78x, nice bright nucleus and big fan shape streaming away.

How much longer is Ikeya-Zhang going to be visible at night, and when will it be visible in the morning?
