Mt. Tam

by Davey

In the end I went to Mt Tam as the SFAA had arranged to have it open all night.

it was a complete ZOO until 2pm when the meteor show was scheduled to end (hahaha!) once most people left about 2.15 the show got into full gear, while not the mythical meteor storm, it was a pretty damn fine display. Very comfortable sitting the mustang with the roof down, heater and music on.

anyone on TAC have a definition as to meteor storm versus meteor shower, guess it is simply some threshold of meteors per hour.

Glad to see so many people out to see it. even though it was not possible to any real observing as a result of the traffic. But I was able to show a good bit of M42's nebulosity through my binocs to a few people. Seven Sisters was great too

quote of the night, a friend of mine that went to MB to view overheard somebody say 'look at all the stars,it's like a planetarium'

I think I'll go to MB wednesday with the scope, Saturday night left me thirsty for ancient photons.
