I then decided to work on some double stars. The seeing was great, and with that bright moon, I wasn't going to make much progress on DSOs.

It was pretty good for DSOs from my backyard last night. Nilesh Shah was here and we had his 12.5" Dob set up on my observing pad. We had quite a Messier-fest going on. M3, M13, M92, M10, M12, M11, M14, M71, M56, M57, M51, M5, The Blinking Planetary... I'm sure I'm not remembering them all. These all shown very nicely in his scope, but would have been even better if the light pollution would have set at a decent hour...

Xi Boo - Another easy split (6.9") with a dim (7.0) companion.

I really like the coppery color of the companoin on Xi!

Epsilon Lyr - The "Double-Double" - always appreciated.

This split decently into four components, but would not take a lot of power.

We also enjoyed the gorgeous colors of Alberio.

Very good night, one that I had not planned, but am glad I spent outside.
