School Outreach

by Al Fink

Hi all I know it's been a long wet month and the weekend here in So., CA doesn't look as though it's going to be any drier.....but I just got back from a elementary school outreach star party, the sky was clear, the kids were bright, afraid the sky was also bright but we can't have everything especially in town.

We started out with five scopes one each of the bright objects, Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Sirius.

As the evening progressed I rotated through each of these with my scope then move on to M42, M47 and Caldwell 13 (ET) the Kids thought it was great.

The OOhs and Haas make up for the not so dark skies.

Will do it again tomorrow, at a different school hope the clear sky holds, expecting more rain Saturday.

Wishing ya all Clear, Dry skies, we'll worry about dark when things dry out abit more.
