We had a little bit better luck from Skyline Ridge, south of SF. Could see Venus as long as we cared to watch (it never blinked out) and the Moon maybe half the time until the whole schmutz settled into the horizon sludge.
I wish we'd had a better view; it was impossible to say if there was any occultation at all, and frankly it didn't even look close...
