Obliterated SEB?

Last night, I was observing Jupiter at 80x, 133x and 211x with a Tak FC100, between 10:30pm and 11:30pm PST. The seeing was about 6/10, with moments of 8/10. I was able to see some nice detail in the NEB, with an interesting loop of dark material reaching down in the EZ. The SEB was clear and distinct, but it stopped altogether about 2/3 towards the east (hope I've got my lateral directions correct: in a refractor with a prism diag, this was to the right).

I assumed that the GRS was obliterating my view of it at that point, but I should have seen the SEB start again near the east edge of the planet, shouldn't I? Also, after an hour, I could just detect the GRS (very white and washed out), but I could definitely detect its eastern edge, and there was quite a bit of turf further east, but no SEB. Did anyone else notice anything such as this last night? Thanks.

I noticed the exact same thing about midnight. It was a little disturbing. As it happens I was doing my very first ever astrophotography earlier and I may have gotten a shot w/ eyepiece projection before I noticed it visually. I can't tell because Walgreens said they could only print my lunar shots, but I can see Jupiter on my negatives.
